Cantatekaravaan is a travelling ensemble exploring the richness of the cantata repertoire - from old masters to contemporary composers. What we play matters, but perhaps where we play matters even more. In a church, a barn, a garden or a castle: wherever people gather, music regains its original power - intimate, direct and deeply human. For five years the caravan has brought music that travels, resonates and connects communities.
Who we are looking for
Soprano, alto, tenor and bass. Repertoire includes arias by Bach, Zelenka and contemporaries, plus recitatives and the sixth movement from Jesu, meine Freude BWV 227.
We are looking for harpsichordists/organists, historical violinists/violists, cellists, gambists, violone players, recorder players, horn players, cornett players and historical trombonists.
You have completed, or nearly completed, professional music training, have experience with early-music repertoire, are a confident performer and feel at home in unexpected venues.
All details about voice requirements, arias by voice type, instrumental repertoire and the audition format are in the full audition brochure (PDF). The audition is accompanied on harpsichord/organ (a=415 Hz).
What we offer
Perform in productions at special venues throughout Zeeland - from churches to estates.
Work in a collegial, professional environment led by Rutger Valentijn Mauritz.
Perform in places where music is rarely heard: a barn, a square, a garden, a castle.
